The group consumer electronics and home appliance company starred in 1996 with just five employees, to represent the goldstar brand, which was re-launched as LG electronics the following year the company has now grown to over 450 employees. But more impressive than its internal growth in the success of the products it represents.
The company not only helped LG electronics with the planning, brand positioning and execution during the launch of the LG brand, But it also importantly customized all the sales & marketing messages to take account of the local Arabic culture and mentality.
An example of the company’s success in the market is clearly demonstrated from independent statistics ( the GFK/MEMRB report) identifying the LG brand as number one market share wise in the Kingdom for washing machine sales, in only the company’s second year of operation. Subsequently the company also achieved the number one position in the country for LG brand Refrigerators and Microwave ovens.
Recognizing that electronic products were becoming more inter-related the company created its Pro-AV project division to offer an “ALL-in-one” integrated solution provider to customers who require a complete electronic audio/video system. Whether in the boardroom, a conference room, a shopping mall or a consumer’s home the Pro-AV division can offer a ‘turn key’ solution to the customer’s needs.
The drive and enthusiasm of the senior management has helped successfully position the LG Electronics and Philips brands as a significant player in Saudi Arabia’s consumer electronics and appliance categories.
